Double Keynote Address: “Patient involvement in Cancer Research”

We were fortunate to have two speakers from the UK, Tessa Richards (senior editor, The BMJ, ex-British Medical Journal, doctor and metastatic cancer patient) and Della Ogunleye (ex-patient) for a session dedicated to patient involvement in research. Tessa Richards presented the “patient revolution” that has taken place at the BMJ and Della Ogunleye gave examples of her involvement in research. Both shared their insights from a country where patients have been partners in research for many years.
