Databases

The development of databases is becoming an essential tool to further progress cancer research. Aiming to combine a range of data from genetic description of a tumour to the patient medical records through the treatment type and evolution, databases give a unique overview of cancer evolution and treatment. The analysis of these databases allows the detection or the identification of previously unseen trends and patterns.

Within the BRIO programs, 3 databases are already set-up :

BRIO aims to consolidate the current databases to fully exploit their potential and to create a critical mass of knowledge and expertise. With this platform, the implementation of new databases will benefit from the experience of the ones previously set-up. This axis is a unique connection within the SIRIC network and combined efforts should deliver more extensive and complete databases.
